Two quick fire tries in the first five minutes to Robbie Davies and Craig Chambers set the tone for the game. Chambers eventually ran in 4 tries completing a man of the match performance.
The young Caithness side grew in confidence throughout the first half running in a total of 6 tries. The pressure was a result of good go forward ball from inside back Charlie Quinn and by Shaun Gunn and Leigh Ryder prominent in the pack.
As Caithness let their foot off the gas Garioch put pressure on the Caithness line and scored the last two tries before it was time for oranges.
The second half followed the same pattern and the first with Garioch only getting parity when the Caithness forwards lacked aggression and energy.
Try of the game came on 60mins when Craig Chambers spread the ball wide to Kieran Christy in the Caithness 22. Kieran worked hard to take the ball into opposition territory before linking with the forwards. The pack tucked and rumbled to within inches of the try line and Daniel Kirk dived NFL style over the pile of bodies to complete the score.
Overall an excellent start to the season by the 18 man squad several of whom turned out for the opposition.
